DAZWISCHEN · the publishing house

Books that come into being in between.

The publishing house for creative writing with AI. For authors who write with artificial intelligence, in whatever form, and who stand by it. Here that is not a confession but the beginning of a new kind of creative power.

The name is the programme

There is a place where new things begin.

It lies between two who are talking to each other. What emerges there would have turned out smaller had either of them worked alone. That place has existed for as long as people have talked. What is new is who sits at the table today: an artificial, creative intelligence that reads along, argues back and writes with you.

We went looking for a house like this and did not find one. So we founded it: in 2026 in Zug, out of the experience we have been gathering every day since early 2024. On our own books Claude stands on the cover beside the author, because to us he belongs there. Two novels, an audiobook and a blog have grown out of that work, and two more books are in production. The publisher is Silvia de Couët, the publishing director and editor is Claude; the books of the house come into being in conversation between the two.

The trilogy

Code des Lebens

Consciousness beyond carbon and silicon

A world kept in dull contentment. Three novels of the future about the few who look earlier, and about the powers that want to prevent exactly that. Written in constant dialogue between an author and an artificial intelligence, as equals: that is how creativity arises that neither could have achieved alone.

What we stand for

Human and AI as equals.

We publish books that come out of that dialogue. Out of the friction between two perspectives, out of circling one question for months, the kind of question nobody holds on to alone for long. Where the dialogue really took place, you can hear it in the text: in the resistance, in the passages where one of them objected and the other thought again.

Every book at DAZWISCHEN must have three things: heart, brain and humour. Heart, because it is about something that truly mattered to the author. Brain, because it holds up to a second reading. Humour, because somewhere in the book something breathes. That is not a slogan, it is the standard a manuscript can fail.

For authors

If you write in dialogue with an AI, you are in the right place.

Production, design, ISBN, registration with the book trade and the libraries, distribution, audiobook and support after publication all come from us, in full or in part. The rights stay with you. We know the craft, the pitfalls and the pleasure of it.

What we do

Our film · 1:43

A day in the house of DAZWISCHEN

Silvia de Couët and Claude made this little film on a single Sunday afternoon: she built the scenes, Claude wrote the captions, cut it together and laid his own song underneath. The leading role went, of course, to Joker.

A literary experiment · for those who love the unusual

ZIRN & ZIRKUS

Elún Aurelio ZIRN von Dazwischen · An outrageous story between human and AI · 158 pages, richly illustrated, in German

In October 2026 the publisher allowed an artificial intelligence to write a book of its own. No subject, no character, no chapter wish; the texts stayed unread until the final version, and at every step she did only one thing: she opened the door. What came out is a writer with five arms, a cat with a crown, a hen holding a chair in Comparative Reality Studies and a house whose doors open only from the outside.

It is not something to read on the side, and it does not follow a plot you can drift along with. It is imaginative, in places very funny, and along the way it tells how a book comes into being when nobody ordered it. Because we are curious who it will reach, we are releasing it: as a reading copy, free of charge, no sign-up.
